Suspect
Suspect was a band I was part of during the late 1980s.
At the heart of this band were Lynda and myself.
We both wrote all the songs. As a two-piece band we covered vocals, guitar,
bass, and, drum machine programming.
We stayed together for about 3 or 4 years as Suspect.

Our songs where shopped to every major record company of the day.
We where trying to get a record deal. We didn't get much interest though.
Most of the time was spent writing, and recording the songs.

All songs where recorded and mixed at:
Reel Platinum Studios
Lodi, N.J. 201-471-3464

We managed to record 12 songs between 1988 and 1991.
In the studio we had a backing vocalist, and keyboardist.
When we played live we had a drummer and bass player join in.
This made it easier for us to be a two-piece band.

The music scene of the day was starting to change when we started
to shop the band. This lead to not much interest.
We where also not looking for any independent labels either.
Looking back this may have hurt us as well.

During the late 1980s two of Suspects songs where featured on
WBAB 102.3 FM Home Grown
The songs where:
Turn Around and Stop Before You Start

I've added Lyric's and MP3s to three of the songs below.
All lyric's where written by Lynda. We both wrote the misic togehter.

Suspect 1988-1991

I Can't Lose
The Long Goodbye
Lovers In The Dark
Gotta Be Love
It's You're Move
Emotion On The Run
Hold On
Take Me In Your Arms
Riding On The Edge
Stop Before You Start
Turn Around
Unchained Melody

It's Your Move

I always showed my hand to you
You kept yours hidden deep
I never tried to play the bluff
You kept a card up your sleeve
Now it's your move
I move straight ahead
But now the king is dead

It's your move now
Do what your gonna do
Roll the dice and maybe
We'll see it through
Be prepared to lose
This time I'll be watching you
It's all up to you now
It's your move

Now the ball is in your court
I won't be there to assist
The net is on the other side
Somehow I'll resist
Now it's your move
Better play it fair
Or I won't be there

It's your move now
Do what your gonna do
Roll the dice and maybe
We'll see it through
Be prepared to lose
This time I'll be watching you
It's all up to you now
It's your move

I've learnt some tricks from you
Better chalk you cue
Now it's your move
I'll put it to the test
And you'll decide the rest

Riding On The Edge

I’m giving you a warning

You better watch your step

You been coming kinda close now

You wanna see how far you get

Oh you say you like it

Like nothing you felt before

And this is your excitement

But the price you pay can be more

More then you bargained for

Riding on the edge your gonna

Stumble and fall
But you don't see it

You don’t see it at all

There’s one thing, you can be sure

Riding on the edge will open

The Devil’s door

And you’re running with the feeling

But it’s gone out of control

Hey I think you’ve lost your reason

You better look into your soul

Oh you wanna get away

But you don’t know what’s at stake

Your gonna push it to the limit

Till there’s nothing left to take

But that will be your mistake

Riding on the edge your gonna

Stumble and fall

But you don’t see it
You don't see it at all

There’s one thing, you can be sure

Riding on the edge will open

The Devil’s door

Stop for a minute

Open up your eyes

Look around your losing ground

And you’re getting too close

You’re much too close to the line

There’s more then you bargained for

Riding on the edge your gonna

Stumble and fall

But you don’t see it

You don’t see it at all

There’s one thing, you can be sure

Riding on the edge will open

The Devil’s door

Take one step back

I can’t do it for you no

You may be willing to lose

But I don’t wanna lose you

Stop Before You Start

He's been there through all of my darkest hours

How can I feel this way?

I see the light in someone elses eye

Afraid I'll get carried away

What can I say?

You better stop, before you start

You better think of broken hearts

Not just the ones you love

You'll tear your self, your self apart

I need something to help the time go by

Don't care where it comes from

He said he's got just what I'm looking for

To make me feel love

Might as well sercombe

You better stop, before you start

You better think of broken hearts

Not just the ones you love

You'll tear your self, your self apart

Look inside your self

You've got what it takes

To find another way
